3D/4D Ultrasound

Today was a very exciting day for all of us! We went to Tucson and had our first 3D/4D ultrasound done of Baby Boy Crowley. We did it with Parker, but this time we're going to do it 2 times. We did one today and we'll do it again around 30+- weeks. We were very surprised (and so was the guy who did the ultrasound) to see how developed he already is at only 24 weeks! It's making us wonder just how accurate the due date of May 14th is! Maybe we'll actually have ANOTHER April birthday! (That would make 12 birthdays in April for our family and friends!) We got some really good pictures and a video today and we're hoping to get even better ones at the next visit! He couldn't get a really good shot of the boy parts because he was moving his legs so much, but he confirmed that we're definitely having another boy! Some of the pictures are a little hard to see at first but if you look at it long enough you'll see him! The placenta was in the way for most of the shots! My favorite is the first one where is hand is on his face and it looks like he's deep in thought! When Jeff's gets a chance, I'll see if he can figure out how to put some of the video clips on here. You can see him moving around and opening his mouth.

Parker is too funny! Last night I was talking to him about going to see the baby today. When I asked him about the baby's name he told me that the baby's name is Baby Storm Trooper! Now when you ask him he goes back and forth between Baby Jackson and Baby Storm Trooper! Several weeks before this Jeff was joking about giving the baby a Star Wars name. When he did Parker would say, "NO Star Wars names!" But Jeff was saying Luke Sykwalker and Han Solo, not Storm Trooper! This is definitely going in both of their baby books!

The Ultrasound- We're having a ???????

We had our routine ultrasound on Tuesday,
Jan. 8, 2008! We're having another boy! The same lady that did Parker's ultrasound did this one! She said she can't tell us 100% that it's a boy, but she paused after saying that and said, "this is a boy!" She let us videotape it and gave us lots of pictures! Parker went with us and got to see everything! We got to see him moving all over the place! He kept putting his hands and feet up to his face. We also got to see him yawn and suck on his lips! She said everything looked great and that his measurements gave a due date of May 9th. The due date they gave us at the very fist ultrasound was May 14th and they don't change the first one because it's supposed to be more accurate. I'm hoping he comes before Mother's Day so we don't have to wait a whole year to get him dedicated though! She also said he weighs 1 1/4 lbs. She said it's like holding 5 sticks of butter in your hands!

The first picture is of his face. You can see the eyes, nose and mouth pretty clearly. The two white dots above his head are his fingers.

The second picture is a profile of his head and arm and the stuff that looks like bubbles is his umbilical cord.

The third picture is his hand- waving hello!

The fourth picture is of his boy part. It's like he's sitting on a glass table and you're looking up.

The fifth picture is a profile of his head and belly.

The sixth picture is the boy part again. She said that's a picture of his "big" boy part!

In the seventh picture he turned towards my back and you can see his spine and head looking down.

5 Months Pregnant! Half way there!

5 Months- Baby Bump
Parker loving on his brother or sister!

When we took these pictures, we tried to get a picture of Parker kissing my belly, but every time he saw the camera he would fuss or refuse to do it. The only way we got the pictures was for Jeff to hide the camera or for him to hide behind the couch and take it that way!

I've been talking to Parker about the baby a lot more and we read a great book that Nana and Pop Pop gave him for Christmas called God Gave Us You. I really think it helped him to understand a little more about what's going on. After we read the story he kept rubbing my belly and putting his head on it. He kisses my belly all the time and at bedtime he kisses it and tells the baby "night, night"! If you ask him if he's having a baby brother or baby sister he gives you a different answer all the time! He also likes to blow raspberries on my tummy to tickle the baby! Now the only problem is that when he tells people, "Mommy has a baby in her belly," he also likes to lift up my shirt to show them!

And Baby Makes 4!

On Monday, Sept. 10, 2007 we found out we're going to have another baby! On Sunday I was feeling nauseous and I just thought I was coming down with something! Jeff said, "You better take a pregnancy test!" I thought he was crazy, but by the end of the day I was starting to wonder if he was right! The next morning I went and bought some pregnancy tests. Sure enough the first test came out positive right away! It was a test I bought at the dollar store so I didn't completely trust it! So I did another one- POSITIVE! The third time I used the expensive name brand test- just to make sure! That was the one that finally convinced me that, yes we were going to have another baby! Unlike Parker, who was very planned, this baby was a complete surprise! We had just started talking about having another baby, but we were thinking we'd wait several months to get some credit cards paid off and hopefully get a bigger house! Looks like God had other plans!

Jeff was at work when I did the tests so I decided to have a t-shirt made for Parker to surprise him! I had a shirt made that said I'm Going To Be A Big Brother! Right before Jeff got home I put the shirt on Parker and waited! When Jeff got home it took almost a half an hour before he finally noticed the shirt! I thought I was going to explode before he noticed it! Needless to say he was happy but a little shocked also! I've posted some pictures that I took right after he found out! We used the shirt to tell most of our family about the baby! My Mom noticed right away! We took the shirt with us to Colorado when we went for Lisa's wedding to tell everybody there! Parker wore the shirt off the plane but his parents didn't notice it because there was so much excitement going on and Parker wasn't being very friendly! After a long time Jeff finally told his parents to look at the shirt! We told Lisa on the phone and she told us to have Parker wear the shirt to the rehearsal dinner! We got so many comments on the shirt and we were able to get pictures of Mimi's reaction to finding out she was having a 3rd great grandchild and Jeff's Aunt Sharon's reaction also!

Welcome to the Crowley Family Blog

Here is our new Crowley Family Blog! I can't think of anything cute to call it right now! Got any ideas? Let me know! We're going to use this to keep everybody updated on Parker and the new baby and anything else going on in our lives! I'll post pictures of Parker and the new baby whenever I get a chance. It's sad that communication these days is almost all through computers, but I think it's great that everybody can see how the kids are growing and find out what's going on with just a click of the mouse! I know a lot more about my relatives and friends than I would've because of the internet!

I'm going to start this blog with info about the new baby, so some of this info is from several months back, but I thought that was a good place to start! Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Love,
Jeff, Julie, Parker, and Baby Crowley
